Print Airtable Views with FlexiPage

Print an Airtable table or view in your own layout, like a product catalog or price list, with a FlexiPage Looper. Download the PDF or save it to a record.

Airtable prints a view as a grid of rows and columns. In FlexiPage, a Looper goes through every record in a table or view and repeats a section you design for each one, so the printout can look like the catalog above.

The steps below build that catalog from two tables:

  • Products: the records to print, with a view called Catalog.
  • Catalogs: one record per printout, like Spring collection. Each catalog record generates its own PDF and keeps it in an attachment field.

If you only need to download a PDF now and then, skip Catalogs and connect the template to Products: any product record then generates the whole catalog.

Create the template

  1. In FlexiPage, create a document and connect it to the Catalogs table.
  2. Type / in the editor and choose Looper.
  3. In the Properties panel, set Source Type to Table. Then select your base, the Products table and the Catalog view.
  4. Design one product inside the Looper. Type @ to insert the product's fields, and add an Image linked to its photo field.
  5. Turn on preview. Your section repeats once for every product in the view.

Every Looper option is covered in the Looper guide.

Choose which records print

The Looper prints the records in the view, in the view's order, up to 10,000 records. To filter or sort them in FlexiPage instead, use Filter Records or Sort Records in the Properties panel.

Filters can also use the catalog record's fields. For example, give each catalog a Season field and print only the products from that season.

Group, number and style records

  • Group records under headings. Loop over a Categories table, then add a second Looper inside it with Source Type set to Linked Field, to list each category's products.
  • Number records. Add a Counter inside the Looper to number them 1, 2, 3.
  • Style some records differently. Add a Loop Conditional Section to show a block only on certain records, like a heading before the first one or a shaded background on every other one.

Download or save the PDF

  • Download it. Select a record in the Catalogs table and click the merge icon on the template's card in the FlexiPage extension. The PDF downloads, ready to print.
  • Save it automatically. Paste the template's script into an Airtable automation, and each PDF is saved to an attachment field on the catalog record. See the automation guide.

Create Airtable PDFs automatically

Design a document once in FlexiPage, then generate it for every record from an Airtable automation, saved back to the record.
