Airtable exports data one view at a time, as a CSV file. From there you can open it in Excel or Google Sheets. For PDFs, you print the view or records, or use a document tool.
Quick answer
| Format | How |
|---|---|
| CSV | View menu → Download CSV |
| Excel | Download the CSV, open it in Excel, save as .xlsx |
| Google Sheets | Download the CSV, then File → Import in Sheets |
| PDF of a view | View menu → Print view → Save as PDF |
| PDF of each record | Interface printing, Page Designer, or FlexiPage |
Export a view to CSV
- Open the base and switch to the view that has the records and fields you want.
- Click the arrow next to the view's name and choose Download CSV.
- The file is saved to your computer, usually in your Downloads folder.
What ends up in the file:
- Only what the view shows. Filters leave records out and hidden fields leave columns out. For a full table, remove the filters and show every field first.
- One table per file. Repeat for each table you need.
- No attachment files. Download the files you need separately.
Downloading a CSV works in the web and desktop apps. On Enterprise plans, an admin can turn downloads off.
Export to Excel
Airtable doesn't export Excel files directly. Download the CSV, open it in Excel, then choose File → Save As → Excel Workbook (.xlsx).
Export to Google Sheets
Download the CSV, then in Google Sheets choose File → Import → Upload and select the file.
Export to PDF
- A view: choose Print view, then Save as PDF in the print dialog.
- One record, or up to 100 at once: print from an interface.
- Records in your own layout: use the Page Designer extension.
- A whole view in your own layout: print it with FlexiPage, for catalogs and price lists.
The first three are covered step by step in how to print from Airtable.
Export a whole base
Airtable doesn't export a base as a single file. Download a CSV from each table, with filters removed and all fields shown, or pull the data with the Airtable API.
Export automatically
Airtable's built-in exports are manual: someone clicks Download CSV or Print each time. To get a PDF of every new or updated record without clicking anything, use a document tool.
With FlexiPage, you design the document once, then paste our script into an Airtable automation. Each run creates the PDF and saves it to an attachment field on the record. Use a scheduled trigger to produce weekly reports.

FAQ
Why is my Airtable CSV missing records or fields?
The export follows the view. Filters drop records and hidden fields drop columns, so clear the filters and show all fields before downloading.
Can I export Airtable to PDF?
Yes. Print the view and choose Save as PDF, print records from an interface, or generate a PDF for each record with Page Designer or FlexiPage.
Can I download a CSV from a shared view?
Yes, unless the person who shared the view turned downloads off.
