How to Export Fibery Data to CSV, Markdown and PDF

Export a Fibery view to CSV, an entity or document to Markdown, a database or the whole workspace, and turn entities into PDFs.

Fibery exports views as CSV files, entities and documents as Markdown, and whole databases or workspaces as archives. It doesn't export PDFs directly.

Quick answer

What How
A view as CSV Table, Report, Board, Timeline, Gantt or Calendar view → Export
An entity or document Menu at the top right → Export → Markdown
A whole database Database export: the table as CSV, rich text as Markdown, plus files
The whole workspace Settings → Export → Export Workspace (admins only)
PDF Fibery's Attach PDF action, or a document tool such as FlexiPage

Export a view to CSV

  1. Open a Table view, or a Report, Board, Timeline, Gantt or Calendar view.
  2. Use the Export option in the view's menu at the top right.
  3. Save the CSV file.

Anyone with access to the view can export it. The file contains the data the view shows. Rich text fields don't come through in a table CSV: export the database instead, where rich text is included as Markdown.

Export an entity or document to Markdown

Open the entity or document, choose Export from the menu at the top right, and pick Markdown. You get an archive with the Markdown file and its images.

Export a database or the whole workspace

  • One database: Fibery can export a database with all its information: the table as CSV, rich text as Markdown, and all images and files.
  • The whole workspace: an admin opens Settings, clicks Export, then Export Workspace. Fibery emails a link to the archive. Large workspaces can take several hours.

Export to PDF

Fibery has no PDF export. Your options:

  • Browser print: open the entity and choose Save as PDF in the print dialog.
  • Attach PDF action: an automation fills a Markdown or HTML template you write and attaches the PDF to the entity.
  • FlexiPage: design the document in a visual editor and generate it from a Fibery rule.

Step-by-step instructions for each are in how to print Fibery entities.

Generate PDFs automatically with FlexiPage

  1. Connect Fibery in FlexiPage with your workspace URL and API key.
  2. Design a template from your database. Related entities become tables you can sort and filter.
  3. Paste our script into a Fibery automation rule. Each run creates the PDF and saves it to a Files field on the entity.

FAQ

Why are rich text fields missing from my Fibery CSV?

Table CSV exports leave rich text out. Export the database instead, where rich text comes as Markdown, or copy the text into a plain text field with an automation before exporting.

Who can export the whole workspace?

Only workspace admins. Everyone else can export the views they have access to.

Create Fibery PDFs automatically

Design a document once in FlexiPage, then generate it for every record from a Fibery automation rule, saved back to the record.
