Table of Contents:
Airtable's page designer is the most intuitive way to convert your data into a business document. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with a proper documentation page. So I added some of the most frequently asked questions in the community and reddit and recorded my answers here.
Create multi-page documents in Page Designer:
Page designer is only intended for creating single page layouts from your records. It is not possible to add multi page support to Page Designer. If you are listing your linked records as table and want the document to expand to another page or you want to add a multi page contract, you have to go for third party solutions.
Store Page Designer print in attachments Field:
There is no option in Page Designer to directly store the PDF document in the attachment field. But It can be done manually. You can choose the record that needs this document and in page designer you can click on the print button. Then you can select "Save as PDF", it will save the document to your computer. You can upload this document into your attachments field.

Create document from multiple records:
This can be done with page designer. Page designer allows you to display all the records of a particular view inside the layout. Let's say you want to create event tickets or business cards for printing and you want each to be one after the other in the same page. You can follow the below steps to achieve this.
Design the layout for a single event ticket or business card
Upon printing you can select the option of records in a specific view.
Then you can choose "In a grid" or "In a list"

For this method to work make sure to set a smaller page size, while designing for a single record. You can do this by opening the changing the page size in extension settings.

Automate Page Designer with Airtable Automation:
This is one of the biggest limitations of Airtable's Page Designer. It is Not Possible to automate your document generation using Airtable Page Designer. This is common across Airtable alternatives, too; for example, Monday.com doesn't support native document automation features. SmartSuite's Document Designer is an exception here.
Since Airtable does not provide any API support for accessing Page Designer, it becomes impossible to access it from Airtable automation as well. Businesses usually look for third-party providers to achieve this functionality. Usually most third party vendors, will allow you to create document templates and provide you with a script, that you can add to "Run a Script" action in Airtable Automation.
Alternative to Page Designer:
FlexiPage is one of the best alternative to Page Designer. You can directly add Airtable fields inside the document editor. You can overcome the difficulties of Page Designer, by creating multi-page documents, automatically generating them from Airtable automation, formatting date and time etc…
